A battered Brazilian-Spanish travel influencer has detailed how she was subjected to a horrific gang rape in India while her husband was forced to watch – as police announced on Tuesday that eight men had been arrested over the sick attack.
The couple, who go by Vicente y Fernanda on their social media pages, claim they were attacked by the gang of men while camping in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand last Friday evening.
The influencers, who documented their cross-country motorcycle ride for more than 300,000 Instagram followers, told Spanish television station Antena 3 that the men raped Fernanda and repeatedly beat Vicente during the brutal ordeal.

“They raped me, they took turns while some watched, and they stayed like that for about two hours,” Fernanda said in the interview.
At some point during the ordeal, the men also threatened to kill her, she said.
The couple also detailed the alleged cruelty in a series of Instagram videos posted over the weekend. It showed a bruised and swollen Fernanda saying: “Something happened to us that we wouldn't wish on anyone.”
“We were attacked in the tent. We were beaten. They put a knife to our necks and she was raped by seven men,” her husband continued.
“My mouth is destroyed, but my partner is worse than me. They hit me several times with my helmet and on the head with a stone. Thank God she was wearing the jacket and that stops the blows a little.”

Police confirmed that they were stopped by a pair of Spanish nationals on a roadside in the state's Dumka district at around 11pm on Friday.
Dumka police commissioner Pitamber Singh Kherwar told reporters the tourists, who appeared to have been beaten, were taken to a nearby hospital where the woman told doctors she had been raped by a group of men.
“The pair spoke a mix of English and Spanish, so the patrol team could not understand them at first,” the superintendent said, according to BBC News. “But they appeared to be visibly injured so they were taken for treatment.”

In one Statement about X On Tuesday, Dumka police said eight men had been arrested over the weekend.
“All eight criminals involved in raping a foreign woman in Hansdiha police station area have been arrested and strictest action will be taken against all criminals,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Spain's foreign ministry said on Sunday it had sent staff to the region and had been in contact with authorities, while Brazilian authorities said they had tried to contact the victims.
