Journalist Anne Sinclair called on the Jewish state to stop violence against civilians in the Gaza Strip in an article published in Le Point on Tuesday evening.
While it “does not establish an equation between the desire of Hamas terrorists to destroy, torture and rape Jewish victims because they were Jews and the fighting waged by the Israeli army in Gaza,” says the author of “The Roundup of Notables”, condemns “the conditions of destruction, death and starvation endured by the civilian population in Gaza”, which are “unbearable”.
“The suffering of mothers or the elderly, the death and mutilation of children cannot leave us Jews indifferent and silent. It's time for this to stop. “Nothing in the world can avenge the atrocities of October 7th, and certainly not the oppression and starvation of a civilian population,” she writes, pointing the finger at the “extremist” government of Benjamin Netanyahu, which, in her opinion, started this war in a “survival” strategy. “I know the devastation and trauma that Israelis, but also all Jews around the world, have suffered since October 7th. And for this reason, we can no longer use our silence to raise our voices against the violence suffered by the people of Gaza. “This is no longer about anything other than simple humanity,” she concluded.
