North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un has instructed the military to “stabilize” drug supplies in the capital Pyongyang because of the significantly increasing number of suspected corona cases. The information is from the state news agency KCNA. In addition, the country announced 392,920 new suspected cases of corona with fever symptoms and another eight deaths. However, the country does not report how many people have tested positive for Covid-19.
Nordkora confirmed the outbreak of the infectious disease on Thursday and declared a state of emergency. According to KCNA, a subvariant of the highly contagious omicron pathogen has been discovered in Pyongyang. Kim then ordered a nationwide lockdown.
