President Joe Biden and the First Lady will travel to Buffalo Tuesday after shooting that leaves 10 dead

WASHINGTON DC — On Tuesday, May 17, the President and First Lady will travel to Buffalo, New York, to be with the community who lost ten lives in a senseless and horrific mass shooting, the White House announced in known to a statement.

The trip comes three days after a man killed ten people with an assault weapon at Tops supermarket on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo.

Authorities charged Payton Gendron with the 18-year-old murder in the case, calling it a racially motivated hate crime.

The Bidens’ Tuesday trip will be the first by an incumbent president to Buffalo since Barack Obama traveled to the city in August 2013 to speak at the university in Buffalo and begin a bus tour of New York state.
