the author of sandman, Neil GaimanHe revealed the scolding he gave in to Tom SturridgeProtagonist of the forthcoming adaptation of the Netflix, on the first day of shooting. In an interview with EW, Gaiman said the actor was too similar to other characters in the comics:
“I growled at him once and said, ‘Stop being Batman.’ He was a little too whispery,” Gaiman said. Sturridge countered, speaking of the author’s honesty: “It was literally my first day! But it was incredibly helpful.”
The protagonist also recalled another piece of advice from the author for interpreting Sonho: “I remember you telling me that everything he says has to sound absolutely to say. That was very helpful.”
The Sandman follows Dream (Sturridge), a mystical entity that rules the space known as Dreaming.
Imprisoned after a ritual aimed at arresting Tod, his sister, he is imprisoned for 70 years until he finally manages to break free and embarks on a journey to return to dreaming and recover his three tools : a bag full of sand, a ruby and a helmet.
The Sandman release date has not yet been announced by Netflix.
