On this subject, the general director of Airports in the north cluster, Carlo Rodoliexplained the interest they had in bringing Sky Cana operations to Puerto Plata because of what this means for the destination and if it has already come about they look forward to the airline’s launch of operations on June 1st .
“Eventually they were able to start operations as it would be in May, but they decided to postpone it until June 1, 2022 to avoid having to stop because of the runway closure for reconstruction.” he said.
He stated that “despite the fact that there are many connecting or transit flights, it’s good news for the destination, but there are many passengers who can stay in Puerto Plata.”
Rodoli pointed out that the company, run by Frank Diaz, is a people betting on fate, so there is a very good intention and a very good vibe to the operation.
The airline is also planning other destinations that are not served from Puerto Plata.
