As a guest on “Da Noi … a Ruota Libera” by Francesca Fialdini on Rai1, Natasha Stefanenko wanted to tell what the war in Ukraine means to her: “For me it’s a family war. My mother is Russian, my father is Belarusian, my last name is Ukrainian…so my great-grandparents were Ukrainian. We are so many, so for me there has never been a difference. I feel broken, my heart is bleeding, there is a rift between us now…it is a very difficult situation and I hope with all my heart that there will be a peace agreement as soon as possible. The moderator then wanted to clarify: “But I would like to say that Russia is not only current events, but also poetry, culture, sports, music… and I am proud of that.”
