In the season finale of Millionaire Joe: Richer or Poorer Thursday, Kurt Sawers and Stephen McBee finally chose their women, and the women finally found out who was worth $10 million and who wasn’t.
For Steven, it all came down to Annie Jorgensen and Kale Jackson, and it was with the latter that the millionaire decided to leave the show. “I was taught that if you work hard and take care of your loved ones, you will be a rich person. So in that sense, I’m very rich. And in terms of real money… I have a lot,” Steven shared with Kalah, telling her it was her. Kalah assured Steven that she wasn’t there for the money, as she told him, “I can honestly say that money didn’t play a role at all in how I feel about you.” However, while some viewers were surprised that Steven chose Kalah over Annie, there was nothing more surprising than the fact that Kurt didn’t choose Caroline.
Carolyn thought she had it in her bag from day one, often saying in her interviews that she can’t wait for the show to end so they can just get on with their lives. The audience was as surprised as she was when Kurt told her, “Carolyn, I think the passion we have for each other is unreal. really burned me in the past. Keep feeling it burn. And you have so much to think about in your life. Caroline, as much as it breaks my heart, my heart belongs to someone else. I’m sorry, Caroline.”

But overall, most fans were happy with Kurt’s choice. Another thing that viewers liked about the ending was that the men gave the women “promise” rings rather than engagement rings.
So it was a generally satisfying season finale, but in the end, the real romance that came out of the show was the bromance between Kurt and Steven.

“Here we come to the end of Joe Millionaire. I can tell you it worked. I have the woman and the man of my dreams. A brother for life who completes me as a man,” said Stephen. And it’s good that the guys have each other, because shortly after the finale, TMZ reported that Kurt and Amanda broke up shortly after filming.
