Audience screams “Bolsonaro out” at Ney Matogrosso show
At a concert by singer Ney Matogrosso on Sunday (15th) in the Master Auditorium of the Ulysses Guimarães Congress Center in Brasília, the audience showed their affection for the country’s President and loudly and clearly shouted “Bolsonaro out”.
The show, called “Bloco na rua,” brought together more than three thousand people and was his first show in the city since the pandemic began. The musician had performed in March and November 2019 when he also filled the room.
What drew attention on the show was Ney’s impressive physical condition, performing daring choreographies and nonstop dancing at the age of 80. He was accompanied by a band composed of seven instrumentalists from the MPB’s first team, including bassist Candango Dunga.
The band played songs by different composers, notably ‘Maçã’ (Raul Seixas), ‘Pavão Misterioso’ (Ednardo), ‘Como 2 e 2’ (Caetano Veloso), ‘I want to put my block on the street’ (Sérgio Sampaio) and Chico Buarque’s version of Cuban Pablo Milanez’s “Iolanda.”
