A man in his 20s was arrested in Laval after shooting in the air at the exit of a bar in the Chomedey sector on Sunday night.

Police arrested the suspected shooter, a 28-year-old man known to authorities, as he was leaving a bar around 2:15 a.m.
The suspect had just been evicted from the Le Skratch bar on Boulevard Curé-Labelle. He was accompanied by two other people. According to our information, a conflict would have broken out within the facility.
The drunk man reportedly fired several projectiles into the air after being dragged from the area. The shots caused no injuries.
“As he drove away in the car, detonations could be heard from the vehicle. There was a police presence nearby,” said Constable Érika Landry, police spokeswoman.
Officers from the Service de Police de Laval (SPL) quickly arrested the suspect. He is a 28-year-old Montrealer known to the police. The other two men accompanying him were released after questioning.
Three incidents involving firearms occurred in the Chomedey sector last week.
Junior Lemoyne Printemps, 28, was shot dead in his vehicle with four other passengers last Sunday.
At 2:25 p.m. the following day, a 911 call reported gunshots being heard near Dumouchel Avenue, not far from Chopin Park.
Last Tuesday, a 33-year-old man was injured in a shootout on Rue Normandin, not far from Rue Beauregard. The suspect or suspects acted in broad daylight in a residential area where children were playing.
