China is facing a major resurgence of the Covid-19 epidemic and just announced on Friday, March 11, the detention of 9 million residents of the northeast city of Changchun. Hundreds of new cases have been recorded every day since the start of the week. This is the highest level of the epidemic in two years in the country.

In addition to Changchun’s conclusion, authorities have stepped up sanitary measures throughout the country, especially in Beijing. A house in the Chinese capital has just been closed, one of the residents went to the area where cases of the disease were reported. It is under police surveillance and residents are to remain in their apartments until further notice.
At least nine residences in Beijing are in the same situation: no entry, no exit.
