“Twitter does not believe in free speech. Elon believes in free speech. He’s a capitalist and we haven’t really acted like capitalists, more like very socialist. Like we’re all like bloody clerks. Ideologically it doesn’t make sense, because we’re actually censoring on the right and not on the left. So everyone on the right wing is going to say, “Brother, it’s okay to say it. I just have to tolerate it.’ The Left will say, ‘No, I will not tolerate this. I need censorship or I’m not on the platform,” Siru Murugesan said.
When asked what his peers thought of Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, the lead engineer said, “They hate it. Oh my God. At least I agree with that. But some of my peers are like super left, left, left, left, left. They say, ‘That would be my last day if it happens’.”
Murugesan said the atmosphere on Twitter is so left-leaning that employees are becoming left-leaning and adjusting their opinions.
In the second video, Alex Martinez, Twitter’s Lead Client Partner, said, “Well, we’re not making a profit at the moment. So it’s going to be called ideology, which has made us not profitable. The rest of us who’ve been here believe in something that’s good for the planet, not just give people freedom of speech.” “And it’s going to be hard for him[Elon Musk]to say, ‘Er, because people have their should make your own decisions’. While Twitter hasn’t officially commented on the videos, Benny Johnson posted the screenshot of an internal email the company sent to its employees, where it accepted the video. “We are in contact with the person concerned and are doing everything we can to help them. More videos may come and we’ll continue to monitor the situation,” the alleged email says, advising Twitter employees on how to protect themselves from similar attempts in the future. “Please remember that we all have a duty to protect confidential, proprietary information and not discuss internal conversations, policies or products outside of work,” it said.
Elon Musk’s Twitter deal has hit a roadblock as Musk is unconvinced by Twitter’s claim that less than 5% of accounts on the social media platform are fake or spam. In his Tuesday tweet, Musk said that “20% fake/spam accounts, while four times what Twitter claims could be much higher.” My offer was based on the accuracy of Twitter’s SEC filings. Yesterday, Twitter’s CEO publicly refused to provide proof of 5%. This deal can’t move forward until he does,” Musk tweeted.
