Watching one queen bomb during a snatch game hurts enough, but all the queens at once? God, horror.
Unfortunately, that was the reality viewers faced during Friday’s Drag Race, which will go down in history as one of the franchise’s most memorable episodes…for all the wrong reasons.
How do you even begin to analyze this nightmare? Lustful William Shakespeare played by Lady Camden (aka Beethoven, if you ask Jorgeus) was a fun concept that failed to materialize. Also, why boobs? Jasmine Kennedy, who probably should have done more research of her own before deciding to play Betsy DeVos, was just as flat. And how did Angeria Paris VanMichaels manage to outsmart iconic eccentric queen Tammy Brown? Then there was Jorgeus, who obviously knows Broad City inside and out, but failed to capture the essence of Ilana Glaser.

And that was just the top row! Willow Pill didn’t even come close to living up to my high expectations with her understated take on Drew Barrymore, Bosco’s Gwyneth Paltrow left no one in awe (hee hee), and Diah Betty’s Ozzy Osbourne was upstaged by Carson Kressley’s far superior impression. during criticism.
I will say that I found it very funny that Dove Cameron won the game in snatch. When was the last time a score really mattered?
DeJa Sky was named this week’s best queen for her decent impression of Lil Jon, even if her performance was mostly just a bunch of catchphrases rather than real jokes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad she finally secured the win, but the bar was low. All you had to do was step over it without tripping, and that’s basically what she did.
Then came the joke of the season. Well, another joke. Roo was so frustrated with her queens due to their poor snatch performance that she announced that all but DeJa were out. But not this week! No, that would be too easy. It would also derail the show’s plans to make this season its longest yet.
Instead, the bottom queens – Angeria, Bosco, Daya, Jasmine, Jorgeus, Camden and Willow – will face off next week in a lip-sync tournament to determine who remains in the competition.
On the one hand, I’m a little annoyed that we’ve gone another week without being eliminated, but on the other hand, Roux hasn’t been out for blood in a long time. Color got me excited.
