Jason Momoa will be showing off his comedy skills and signing on as both the star and producer of the new action-comedy shots! shots! shots!
The 42-year-old actor has signed through THR on the project, which Universal Pictures just took over from writers Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows.
No director has been confirmed yet, and there’s no indication of when production might begin.

No plot details have been released, although the project has been described as a “family-centric adventure”.
Other projects the film has been compared to include 1994’s True Lies starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis and a young Eliza Dushku, Taken starring Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace and the current hit The Lost City.
Momoa will serve as producer alongside Jeff Fierson, along with Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who are producing for their company Rideback.

Writers Mider and Burrows will serve as executive producers, along with Rideback’s Ryan Halprin.
Universal Pictures Executive Vice President Matt Reilly and Creative Development Executive Jacqueline Garell are overseeing the project for the studio.
The project will give Momoa a rare opportunity to showcase his comedy skills as he continues to be a fixture in the action genre.

He will next be seen in the family adventure Slumberland alongside Kyle Chandler, Chris O’Dowd and India de Beaufort, which arrives later this year.
Momoa also stars in The Last Manhunt with Amy Seimetz, for whom he also helped create the story, although there’s no release date yet.
He’s also making his long-awaited return as Arthur Curry in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is currently in post-production and is due out in 2023.
