Tracey BraxtonThe singer and member of the famed Braxton family passed away on Friday (March 11) following a bout of cancer. TMZ reports that Braxton has been battling cancer for about a year. Her family was by her side at the time of her death.

Tracy with her sisters Tony, Towanda, Trinaas well as Tamar Braxton got their big break when they signed with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds as well as L.A. reedfamous LaFace Records in the late 80s. After Toni’s breakthrough solo success, Tracy, along with her sisters, became her backing vocalists and starred in the music video for Toni Braxton’s single “For seven whole days“.

Tracy was featured on the reality show “WE TV”Braxton Family Valuesand the third seasonMarriage Boot Camp“with her husband Kevin Surratt.

In 2014, Tracey released her debut solo album, Crash & Burn, which included the singles “Last Call” and “Perfect Time”.

Braxton added acting to her résumé, appearing in films such as Sinners Wanted, All Inclusive (starring Lil Mama), The Christmas Lottery, and a production of There’s a Stranger in My House.

Tracy Braxton was 50 years old.
