Three women were killed when a suspected drunk driver slammed into their rental car behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz as they were leaving a Sweet 16 party on Long Island.
Dante Lennon, 22, drove the Mercedes-Benz sedan that boned the 2010 Lincoln Town Car on the Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park Saturday night, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
The crash happened at 11:11 p.m. Saturday night just outside a venue called the Inn at New Hyde Park.
Three women who were passengers in the back seat of the Lincoln died at the scene. The driver and two other occupants were taken to hospital in stable condition.
A venue worker told CBS2 that the women who were killed had just left a Sweet 16 party.
“Very disturbing, I’ve never seen that in my life,” said Jaylen Augustin. “I just hope – why would that happen, I just can’t believe it.”

Surveillance video shared with CBS2 shows the driver of the Lincoln slowly attempting to turn left onto the Jericho Turnpike when a Mercedes suddenly pulls in. Both cars fly down the road from the impact.
A witness who works at the nearby Table 7 restaurant told CBS he heard a loud bang, ran outside and saw the mangled cars.
“Immediately I see a Mercedes-Benz coming by and collide with an Uber driver who was about to turn,” he said. “It looked a bit like a T-Bone, and it was devastating. It was older people that were in there, just very sad.’
