MOSCOW, 22 May (EFE).- The Russian Defense Ministry said today that six Ukrainian army command posts were destroyed on Saturday, three of them with high-precision missiles and the other three with attack aircraft.

“As a result of the air strikes, more than 210 nationalists were killed and 38 heavy weapon units destroyed,” said the department’s spokesman, General Igor Konashenkov, when offering the traditional morning session.

He added that in addition to punishing Ukrainian positions, five arsenals in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of eastern Ukraine were destroyed from the air.

Konashenkov noted that over the past 24 hours, Russian anti-aircraft defenses shot down a total of 11 Ukrainian drones, almost all of them in the eastern regions of Ukraine, where the most intense fighting is taking place.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian forces have destroyed 174 Ukrainian planes, 125 helicopters and 997 drones since the “military special operation” began in Ukraine on February 24.

In addition, the Russian military assures that to date, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 317 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,198 tanks and other armaments, 408 multiple self-propelled launchers, 1,622 artillery pieces and 3,077 military vehicles. EFE
