A 19-year-old University of Minnesota student who was reported missing nearly two weeks ago has been confirmed dead after a body was found in the Mississippi River.
Austin Retterath was reported missing by the University of Minnesota Police Department on May 8.
Investigators said there was no indication foul play was put into Retterath’s death.
Retterath was last seen alive on May 8 in the East River Road and Franklin Avenue area of Minneapolis.
On Wednesday, the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a man found dead in the river.

The 19-year-old was enrolled in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota and was on the Dean’s List for Fall 2021.
Retterath was described as approximately 6ft 2 tall, weighing 160lbs and with blonde hair.
The obituary, published on a local funeral home website, says the teen was born in Wausau, Wisconsin.
“He had many hobbies, including playing basketball, cheering for the Packers, spending time with his family and friends at the lake, and visiting new places with his family,” the obituary reads.
Retterath is survived by his parents, two older siblings and three nephews.
