A house in Longueuil caught fire on Sunday evening, at least two people were injured.
At around 4:04 p.m., a fire broke out in a three-story apartment building at 2289 rue Daniel in Longueuil. According to the Longueuil fire department, the fire broke out on the ground floor.
Firefighters were able to rescue a woman in her 40s and a three-year-old child, both trapped on a first-floor balcony. “The woman suffered first and second degree burns on 25% of her body and is being treated for smoke inhalation,” fire department spokesman Alain Lessard said.
The child was also taken to the hospital, where he is being treated for smoke inhalation.
The woman and child were both conscious when they were taken to the hospital.
There are no other casualties at the moment and “the fire is under control,” said Mr Lessard.
