A family escaped almost unscathed after a fire engulfed their garage and vehicle on Sunday, which have since been declared a total loss.
At around 3:30pm firefighters from MRC des Collines were responding to a fire in Chelsea that left a garage appearing to be on fire.
Arriving at the scene, firefighters found that the fire had engulfed the detached garage with a car inside. “According to initial findings, the source of the fire arose by accident,” said the MRC des Collines fire department.
The garage and the car are total losses.
The residents were treated for some minor injuries and a nervous shock.
