Bill Gates admits that Samsung Galaxy’s foldable Android smartphone, the Z Fold 3, is his go-to companion, although Microsoft has its own counterpart, the Surface Duo.
It turns out that the Microsoft founder, who for a time called his mobile operating system Windows Phone, is now using an Android phone himself.

But even though Microsoft now offers a smartphone running Android in the flesh of the Surface Duo, its founder seems to be leaning towards its more popular competitor.
Bill Gates uses a foldable Samsung Galaxy?
According to a report by 9to5Google, philanthropist Gates recently had an AMA on Reddit honestly sharing the smartphone he uses every day.
He revealed that the ultra-wealthy Microsoft founder wasn’t using a Nokia Lumia, which was once the smartphone his tech giant powered.
But again, iPhones and Android phones have dominated the market considerably. Thus, Windows Phone is completely killed.
The obvious assumption for some is that the Microsoft founder would use the Surface Duo as his primary mobile device.

However, Gates surprised us when he admitted on his Reddit AMA that he uses the latest Samsung foldable.
The tech entrepreneur shared the smartphone he uses when a Reddit user by the name “bwagnon713” asked Gates an interesting question.
“What kind of phone do you have?” asked the Reddit user, adding a thinking emoji to his question.

The philanthropist bravely answered the question, which comes as a surprise to most. The Microsoft founder, who uses the Reddit username “thisisbillgates,” said he uses a foldable Samsung Galaxy.
Gates did not mention the Samsung brand in his response. Instead, the tech founder said he had an “Android Galaxy Z Fold 3.”

According to a recent report from Android Police, he added that he is exploring other smartphones. But he didn’t mention which of the latest offerings he was trying out.
However, 9to5Google noted that Gates has been using Android smartphones since 2017. He even revealed that he prefers using phones powered by Google’s mobile operating system to Apple’s iPhones.

Bill Gates Phone: Why Not Surface Duo?
While Gates has certainly been using the Microsoft Surface Duo for some time, he explains why he prefers Samsung’s foldable flagship.
The Microsoft founder says the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which features a huge OLED display, lets him “make do with a great laptop and phone and nothing else.”
