MEXICO CITY, May 23 (RHC) — The heat continues to be intense and searing in Mexico with a record between 35 and 45 degrees Celsius in 17 of its 32 states, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported today.

SMN forecast very high temperatures of up to 45 degrees for Campeche, Chiapas, Coahuila, Durango, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, South Sonora, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Yucatán and Zacatecas.
Likewise, values of 35 to 40 degrees are estimated in Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Colima, southwest of the state of Mexico.
Guanajuato, north of Hidalgo, north and southwest of Puebla, north of Querétaro, Quintana Roo and San Luis Potosí, and 30 to 35 degrees in Aguascalientes, Mexico City and Tlaxcala.
