Joe Biden after filming in Texas: When will we be in front of the gun “lobby”

the President of United States of America, Joe BidenHe was asked in a speech to the nation this Tuesday, May 24, when his country would stand in front of the gun “lobby” after the deaths of 18 minors and three adults in a shooting at an elementary school Texas.

“As a nation, we have to ask ourselves when in God’s name are we going to stand up to gun lobbyists, when in God’s name are we going to do what we know deep down needs to be done,” Biden said in a speech at The White House after the massacre in the town of Uvalde.

The shooting is the second largest at a school in the United States in a decade, and Biden recalled how 10 years ago 26 people, including 21 children, died at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

Biden noted that since then there have been 900 firearm shootings in schools across the country, including that at Parkland High School in 2018 that killed 17, and regretted having to relive such an episode.

“I’m tired. We have to act. We all know what needs to be done,” emphasized the visibly upset President, once again sending a message to his country’s legislators to regulate gun control.

He wondered why Americans still have to live with these “butcher shops” and why it is the only country where such killings take place.

The president insisted on the need to “put pain into action” and have the “courage” to confront pro-gun advocacy groups. “For every parent, for every citizen of this country, we must make it clear to every elected official in the United States that it is time to act,” he reiterated.
