No arrests were reported Monday morning in connection with the violent attempted robbery.

Beverly Hills, home to Hollywood celebrities and luxury stores, has been the scene of numerous brazen robberies in recent months.

By the end of 2021, looting and heavy attacks in the city of 34,000 people had increased by 13 and 23 percent, respectively, compared to the previous year.

In January 2022, Beverly Hills saw six robberies, 29 burglaries and 81 thefts.

Beverly Hills leaders have come to power against DA Gascon, which has been widely criticized as mild on crime for demonstrating what is seen as excessive leniency towards suspected criminals.

The progressive prosecutor is currently facing a second withdrawal vote after the first attempt to remove him failed last year, despite receiving support from Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva and victims’ rights advocates.
