A daredevil fisherman captured the moment he charges towards a hammerhead shark in shallow water.

Western Australian YouTuber Brody Moss shared a video this week of him wading through shallow water following a mega shark that circles around him aggressively.

A predator’s fin sticks out of the water nearby as Mr. Moss excitedly shouts, “That’s it! He came straight for me, woohoo!’

The ogre then suddenly changes course and torpedoes towards him, then surrounds him.

An unharmed Mr. Moss is then seen chasing the escaping shark.

“At this time and this tide, the great hammerheads come and hunt turtles and rays,” he explains.

“He got a little confused about who I was, but when he figured it out, he was out of it.”

The video with four million followers on Tiktok has already received 1,300 comments since it was posted.

“The shark thought ‘why is he following me, it’s my job,'” wrote one user.

“The iconic Aussie… ‘he walks right at me’ and also runs towards him,” commented another user.

Mr. Moss and his team have amassed over three million subscribers on their Youngbloods Spearfishing YouTube channel.

Their videos focus on enjoying the ocean – swimming, snorkeling and fishing – as well as interacting with a variety of marine life off the coast of Western Australia.

It is Mr. Moss’s enthusiastic approach to Australian marine life that leads users to compare him to the late Australian icon Steve Irwin.

“Serious Steve Irwin vibes!” commented a Tiktok user.

“Steve Irwin was a legend… Brody? I think we can mention them in the same breath,” wrote one YouTuber.

Found in temperate and tropical waters around the world, the hammerhead shark can reach six meters in length and weigh over 450 kg, although smaller sizes are more common.

According to the International Shark File, there have been 17 unprovoked hammerhead shark attacks since 1580, with no fatalities reported.
