The Brazilian is arrested and accused of threatening to blow up a steakhouse in the US

A Brazilian man was arrested on Saturday (May 21) in the town of Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States, on suspicion of threatening to blow up a Brazilian steakhouse.

According to Barnstable police, Eduardo Filho, 29, called Fogo Brazilian Barbecue (BBQ) restaurant around 6:40 p.m. Friday (5/20) and said he had left a suitcase with explosives at the restaurant. He threatened to detonate the explosives if anyone touched the package.

The restaurant had to be evacuated. The State Police Bomb Squad examined the suitcase but found it contained no explosives.

The man was arrested on charges of making a terrorist threat and using a fraudulent device. The Brazilian was arrested. The court posted bail of US$25,000 (about R$120,000) and the Brazilian was charged in Barnstable District Court. It was unclear whether the Brazilian had already posted bail.
