Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, Mayim revealed that her time on the quiz show is coming to an end and if it were up to her, she would continue to stand on the podium. According to the Call Me Kat star, she will be recording new episodes until this spring. But after that, she doesn’t know what will happen.
“Can we see you as a permanent host?” the exit asked. “I would love that,” Mayim replied. “I like to say [I’ve] lived from season to season with [I was] about 13 years old. So what I do know is that I’m hosting until May 6th, and besides, I hope I’ll find out more before May 6th.”
How dangerous! fans know that Mayim was part of the list of temporary guest hosts of the quiz show in the second half of the 37th season. After her episodes aired from late May to mid-June, she was officially announced as the host of the primetime specials. After a while, Jeopardy! legend Ken Jennings was announced as her colleague following the sudden departure of the former executive producer Mike Richards. Throughout season 38, Mayim and Ken have been working together to host the show, with a new permanent host yet to be named.
Now the 46-year-old TV presenter is raising her hand to be part of Jeopardy! staff full time. But after hearing this last event, the audience gave their opinion. On the one hand, many fans support Mayim to get a job. “Absolutely wish she was the host of the show!” one person wrote on YouTube. “SHE HAS MY VOICE,” added another.
On the other hand, some people hope that Ken will take a permanent position. However, this probably won’t happen because Jeopardy! Champion is already working behind the camera as a consulting producer.
The story goes on
This won’t be the first time Mayim has spoken about becoming a full-time host for Jeopardy!. When the current season premiered in September, the neuroscientist was open about how much the opportunity meant to her in an interview with Glamour. Although Mayim admitted she has a busy schedule with her Fox sitcom Call Me Kat and her mental health podcast Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown, she still longs to be a part of Jeopardy!.

But it really was after those two days [of filming my guest host episodes] that I realized that I never wanted anything more than this job, ”she told the publication. “I am not a person who relies heavily on intuition. I want me to be. But this was the case when I intuitively felt that something special had happened in my life. In just these two days [taping episodes to air over two weeks]. I told the crew, “I don’t want to leave. I really don’t want to leave.”
She added: “There is no other job that I would prefer. I love my job on the sitcom, really. I love all the other things that I do. I love podcast. But I’ve never had a better job.”
