ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Fractures around Bob Saget’s eye sockets and a hemorrhage around his brain may have been caused when the comedian hit “something hard covered with something soft,” like a carpet on the floor, according to to a report released on Tuesday that provides details of the TV star’s death.
In an incident report released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orlando, the detective notes that medical examiner Joshua Stephanie said the fractures would have “deafened Mr. Saget” and that he would have experienced dizziness. If he had been with people at the time, they would have noticed “confusion, balance and/or slurred speech,” the report says. It does not indicate the place where Saget fell.
After an autopsy in January, the medical examiner concluded that Saget died from an accidental blow to the head, likely from a fall on his back. Investigators called to the luxury hotel room found no sign of struggle, foul play, or signs that anyone else was in Saget’s room during his stay. Toxicological analysis did not reveal illegal drugs or toxins in Saget’s body.
There were no traces of blood on the sheets or bedspreads at the hotel, according to a report released Tuesday.
An initial examination of Saget’s body in a hotel room revealed that he had a small swelling and small bruises in the corner of his left eye. “There were no other signs of any injuries or injuries,” the report said.
The 65-year-old artist was found by hotel security on his bed at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando on Jan. 9 after he was unable to check out of the hotel and his family asked for a health check.
I had to call the hotel staff to open the door to Saget’s room, as it was locked from the inside. Despite the fact that the door between Saget’s room and the next room was left unlocked, records of the hotel’s electronic locks showed that no one had been in the adjacent room since January 7, two days before Saget’s body was discovered, the report said. He speaks.
He is best known for his role as beloved single father Danny Tanner on the sitcom Full House and the witty host of America’s Funniest Home Videos. Saget was married to Kelly Rizzo Saget and had three daughters from a previous marriage.
Saget was on the road as part of his “I Don’t Do Negative Comedy Tour” and said shortly before his death that he enjoyed the warm welcome of the public in Orlando and the Ponte Vedra beach resort area.
A judge in Florida on Monday agreed to issue a standing order barring the publication of photos, videos or other records related to the investigation into Saget’s death. The Saget family filed a lawsuit demanding an order.
