Reports say the UFC fighter and his training partner heroically took out a man who opened fire at a sushi restaurant in Houston on Monday night.
Kevin Holland, who trains in Fort Worth, and his mixed martial arts training partner Patrick Robinson were having lunch at RA Sushi in Highland Village when a suspect walked in and fired a bullet into the ceiling of a crowded diner at around 11:30 p.m. Fox 26 reports.
Holland, Robinson and other daring clients stepped into action and quickly apprehended the suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Jesús Edrai Cardiel Samaniego, according to WFAA and Fox 26.
Robinson later recalled the duo’s efforts in an interview with reporters.
The suspect, Jesús Edray Cardiel Samaniego, entered and fired a bullet into the ceiling of RA Sushi in Highland Village around 11:30 p.m. Houston Police Department.
“My buddy and I ran up to the shooter, hit him, strangled him, took his gun away from him, and then called the police,” Robinson said.
“We’re fighting for life, so it was just quick instincts.”

The police, who arrived and arrested Samaniego, praised the visitors for getting down to business quickly.

The suspected shooter has been charged with multiple shootings.
