Cuba is a safe and sustainable tourism destination, as recognized this Thursday by a representative of the World Tourism Organization attending the Stockholm+50 International Conference taking place in Sweden.
According to Prensa Latina, Minister of Science, Technology and Environment Elba Rosa Pérez, who heads the Antilles Mission, revealed in a message published on social networks that UNWTO Executive Director Zoritsa Urosevic highlighted the assets of the Antilles country and its Potential to promote sustainable tourism.
At the meeting, Urosevic invited the island to join the Glasgow Declaration on climate action in tourism.
As part of his agenda, Pérez also spoke to the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, Elizabeth Maruma Mrema.
On that day, the Caribbean delegation shared with the other participants in the event the results of the national consultation process carried out on the island to promote a debate on environmental solutions.
The Stockholm+50 International Conference: A Healthy Planet for All: Our Responsibility, Our Opportunity aims to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
