DL Hughley posted a public response to the latest remarks from the artist formerly known as Kanye West, who told his nearly 16 million Instagram followers on Wednesday that he “used to defend” the comedian “when he had a job.”
As IG-refresh fans will notice, on Wednesday morning, Ye shared a couple of posts directed at Hughley, whom the Donda and Donda 2 artist previously said, “I can afford to hurt you” in response to comments made about him and Kim Kardashian during a recent interview with DJ Vlad.
“This grown man chose this outfit himself. Is he powerful or influenced??? Ye said in the first Hughley post on Wednesday. In another post, Ye shared a screenshot of Hughley’s article on The Wendy Williams Show last June, including the aforementioned defense statements in the caption.
“It’s funny that we’ll probably be friends… I defended that nigga when he had a job…. Like not, it’s funny… you just have to watch it 1 trillion more times to understand,” said Ye.
Hours later, Hughley shared several tweets directed at Ye, once again making fun of mental health.
“When you say that you had to explain my jokes to people, are they real people or the ones that you keep in your head?” former DL host Hughley Breaks the News wrote in one tweet. He went on to mention the Kardashian family (“do you know how terrible you have to be to get a #Kardashian to date a white man?”) and “Peter Pete.” He also defended his choice of style, advocating the use of the “Maisy card”.
Davidson was also mentioned this past weekend amid Hughley’s response to Ye’s aforementioned “I can afford to hurt you” threat, with the Original Kings of Comedy star telling fans, “It’s too bad you’re acting like a psycho, don’t stop. [Pete] from the first bustin.
