The Seattle Seahawks brought a pass rusher to the team through free agents.
Former Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Uchenna Nwosu signs a two-year contract through Adam Schefter.
Former Chargers linebacker Uchenna Nwosu has agreed to a two-year, $20 million contract, including $10.5 million guaranteed by his Seattle Seahawks agents. @DrewJRosenhaus as well as @RyanMata say espn.

Nwosu is an outside linebacker/LEO who had five sacks last season, a career high. He played at USC and was selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Nwos is only 25 years old and is the dude who knocked Patrick Mahomes down on the goal line when the Chargers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 34-28 in overtime.
In fact, he had four deflected passes last year, which several members of the Seahawks defensive line have become known for.
Nwosu becomes one of the first participants in what is sure to be a massive exodus from the AFC West, in particular from the Chargers.
2021 was only the first season in which Nwosu has played more than half of his defensive snaps, and his performance at this pace is encouraging.
Nwosu got decent pressure on SIS – ~13%. grouped with some famous names – though not much bag conversion. As have fallen a lot, which is important as Seattle needs both of their OLBs to be able to rush and fall as they continue to build on their new scheme. pic.twitter.com/sVx4QMsJnB

The Athletic named him the 43rd best free agent on the market this year.
It doesn’t feel like signing Za’Darius Smith, but it’s a good move. Around the same time, Chandler Jones was reportedly signed by the Oakland Raiders for $17 million a year. 10 contracts a year for Nwosu – and only $10.5 million guaranteed, so let’s wait for contract details – this is a quality signing.
