Bill Hader’s Barry returns next month for another season of acting lessons and contract killings. And it’s about time. After two mesmerizing seasons featuring some of the weirdest, funniest and most violent comedies on TV, Barry has left audiences on the rock we’ve been hanging from since May 2019.

So, with chafed fingers and dangling bodies like we’re Sylvester Stallone on a What Else Cliffhanger poster, Barry’s third season premieres on April 24th. But unfortunately, judging by a new teaser released by HBO earlier today, that’s not the case. Hader doesn’t seem to be getting us on solid ground.

Last season left the title-winning Barry in a quandary. This happens when you kill your acting teacher’s girlfriend, who also happens to be the woman investigating you for a series of murders. Now Barry must figure out a way to keep his cover up while keeping the Chechen mafia at bay.

Here’s what HBO says will be the key moment of the third season:

Desperate to put his violent past behind him in favor of his newfound passion, Barry (Hader) tries to extricate himself from the world of contract killings and immerse himself fully in acting. But getting out is dirty. Although Barry removed many of the external factors that pushed him to violence, he soon discovers that they were not the only forces at work. What is it about his own psyche that led him to become a murderer in the first place? In the third season, Barry and other characters struggle to make the right choice.

There isn’t a lot of specifics in HBO’s description, but we’re excited to see Noho Hank (Anthony Carrigan) returning for a third season. His offhand brutality and serious use of modern slang—not to mention his campy hosting skills that Emily Post would be proud of—were a refreshing can of Mountain Dew on a series that often veers into violence and suspense. But like him, we’re also seriously nervous about where things are going. One thing is clear: we must protect Noho Hank at all costs.

Barry returns to HBO on April 24th.
