Free Agency Raiders: Contract with running back Brandon Bolden

On Wednesday, the topic came up – Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler are chasing the players they had in the New England Patriots.

As expected.

According to NFL Media, shortly after the signing of blockbuster Chandler Jones, the new Las Vegas Raiders attacked another former New England Patriots player in the form of backup running back Brandon Bolden.

While Jones’ move was a shock, Bolden’s addition is not surprising at all. There were rumors about a wedding in Las Vegas. Previously as a free agent, New England running back James White said he considered signing McDaniels in Las Vegas before deciding to return to New England.

Bolden will be the third quarterback after starting Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. McDaniels loves to use runners and he should be happy with this group.

Bolden, 32, is a solid wide receiver. The 10-year-old veterinarian (who spent his entire career at McDaniels and Patriots) achieved a career-high 41 catches in 2021. Last year, he averaged 5.1 yards on 44 carries. He’s a role player but fits in with what the McDaniels want. This is another sign that Jalen Richard is likely going into free agency.
