SAN FRANCISCO — Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry was ruled out of the second half of Wednesday night’s 110-88 loss to the Boston Celtics due to pain in his left leg and underwent an MRI immediately after the game.

Asked about the extent of his concern about Curry’s leg, Warriors coach Steve Kerr replied, “We’ll find out after the MRI.”

Curry injured his leg at the 4:17 mark in the second quarter when the Celtics’ Marcus Smart rolled his leg while they were struggling for a lost ball.

Kerr was shown yelling at Smart after the performance.

“I thought it was a dangerous game,” Kerr said. “I thought Markus dived into Steph and it upset me. Much respect for Marcus. He’s a damn good player, gamer, contender. after the game, and we’re fine. But I thought it was a dangerous game.”

Getting up, Curry tried to ease the pain. He was then looked at on the bench during the ensuing timeout, but instead of returning to the court, he ran back to the dressing room.

His comeback was initially flagged as questionable, but after being tested at halftime, he was downgraded to elimination.

Curry scored just three points on 1-of-4 shots with 14 minutes to go.

Curry’s injury came just one game after Draymond Green’s return with a back injury that kept him out of the field for two and a half months. Between that game on Monday and Wednesday’s game, Curry, Green and Klay Thompson have only played 11 minutes together this season. And the Warriors have yet to play a game with all five of their regular starters — Curry, Green, Thompson, Kevon Looney and Andrew Wiggins.

“Adversity hits everyone at any time, and you just face it and keep moving forward,” Kerr said. “So hopefully Steph will be ok.”

“Injuries are part of the game,” said Juan Toscano-Anderson. “It happens. Unfortunately, this has been happening to us a lot lately. But we’re talking about our depth, so we have to make it live. We can’t just talk about it.”
