Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is out indefinitely with a sprained left leg. according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. X-rays from the Warriors’ game against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday reportedly showed no fractures or structural damage.

Curry left at the end of the second quarter and was ruled out shortly after the break. The injury occurred while Curry and Marcus Smart were chasing a lost ball. Smart dived and landed on Curry’s left leg. Shortly after the final signal for a 110–88 victory for the Celtics sounded, it was announced that Curry get an MRI on his injured leg

Warriors coach Steve Kerr did not seem pleased with Smart’s aggressiveness in this situation. As you can see in this video, Kerr and Smart have been “talking” and you can draw your own conclusions about what this is all about.

Kerr obviously doesn’t like his star player’s foot being knocked out by an opponent, but Smart didn’t do anything wrong here. He was chasing a lost ball. We love to criticize NBA players for not playing hard, and that’s all Smart did here. He immediately collapsed to the floor, and in fact Curry stepped under him after Smart had already dived.
