Greta Van Fleet’s member is taken to the hospital. The band made the announcement recently on their social media following yesterday’s announcement of the postponement of the two remaining Michigan shows of their Dreams in Gold World Tour.
The band reports that while lead singer Josh Kiska has largely recovered from his non-COVID illness, guitarist Jake Kiska’s condition has worsened to the point of being hospitalized.
“Jake’s diagnosis is more complex,” the group wrote on social media. “What started with a slight cough on Tuesday progressed rapidly during the night, requiring him to be hospitalized yesterday. The last 24 hours were difficult, as the doctors were not sure of the exact disease. Fortunately, after further examination, they are confident in their diagnosis of pneumonia, and the optimal course of treatment has been determined.”
The band has already postponed yesterday’s Flint show and today’s Ypsilanti show, and has now postponed Saturday’s show in Huntington, West Virginia to August 10th. Now Flint will take place on September 13, and Ypsilanti has been rescheduled for the following evening. Tickets for rescheduled shows will be valid for the new dates.
“We are grateful for your kindness and appreciate your positive support during this difficult time. We promise to provide you with the most up-to-date information as the situation evolves,” the group added on social media.
The postponements come just days after the band played at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw and kicked off their world tour at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo a week ago.
