A Ukrainian actress known for her work on the big screen and in theatrical productions has died in a Russian rocket attack on Kyiv, according to a local theater.
As a result of an attack on a residential building, 67-year-old Oksana Shvets died, the theater reported.
“During a rocket attack on a residential building in Kyiv, the Honored Artist of Ukraine Oksana Shvets was killed,” the Young Theater said in a Facebook post. “Blessed memory of a talented actress! There is no forgiveness for the enemy who came to our land!”

The band expressed “irreparable sorrow” at the death of Shvets.

“Actress of the Young Theater Oksana Shvets was killed in Kyiv during the war,” the post reads next to the image of the stage veteran.
Young theater in Ukraine did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Shvets was recognized as one of the greatest performers of her country and was awarded the highest artistic merit as “Honored Artist of Ukraine”.

The UN estimates that the fighting has forced more than 3 million people to flee war-torn Ukraine. The death toll remains unknown, although Ukraine has said thousands of civilians have died.
Last week, Ukrainian singer and composer Pasha Li was killed in shelling in Irpin while on the front lines fighting for his country, the Odessa Film Festival reports on its Facebook page.

The 33-year-old served in the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Unit after he suspended his duties as an actor and TV presenter when the war broke out.
