Buying wrecked cars for £10,000, he painstakingly restores the cars and increases their value “five times”. He believes the collection could now be worth up to £400,000.
“I can buy a car for £10,000, but after I work on it, it will go up to £50,000,” Dale said. It’s hard to say the exact cost as I don’t value my time. But I saw the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 sell for £200,000.”
An Only Fools and Horses superfan said the iconic yellow vans are available for rent, adding: “I’ve always loved this program and that’s why I became self-employed.
“The Reliant Regal was the first car I bought in 2016 on eBay for £6,000. The collection just grew from there.

“At first I didn’t want to rent cars, but Channel 4 contacted David Jason about Great British Inventions. It was amazing to meet him – he was very nice. I haven’t rented one since, but there are two more.
Mr. Dale often draws attention in his hometown as he switches between iconic cars to complete his groceries.
“I can’t leave cars locked in the warehouse all the time, so I drive them,” he said. “People are often shocked and photographed. The Ghostbuster car in particular gets the most attention. I definitely have to keep my whites with me while driving as people take pictures while driving so I need to make sure we don’t crash!”
Mr. Dale is currently working on Back to the Future’s Delorean, the A-Team van, the Batmobile, and more.
He added: “I believe there are only two Pontiac ambulances left in the world and I am restoring one of them.
“I also build a rare Reliant Regal three-wheel convertible and a Smokey and the Bandit firebird car.”
