Man, this is historical, what the Bucs front office does.
The Tom Brady recruiting tour continued this morning as the NFL Network reported that all-around quarterback Logan Ryan, a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Belicheats and captain of the Giants last year, has now turned pirate.
Ryan, 31, is a Shianoman, aka Rutgers University kid, selected by New England in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Ryan was a cornerback with the Belichits for four seasons before moving to Tennessee for three. He has spent the last two years with the Giants playing in safety and all over the defensive backfield.
Ryan is very resilient, having only missed five games in nine years and two of them were COVID related. At times in his career he was a strong blitzer and hawk. Joe is keen to see how defensive coordinator Todd Bowles uses him, compared to how he used the late Bucks defenseman Jordan Whitehead.
Time to cross Tyranne Mathieu off the list.
Keep working on the salary cap, Jason Licht!
UPDATE: 8:08 Ryan is not new to Tampa, he trains with former Bucks wide receiver Yo Murphy in the city.
From @GMFB: #bucks continue to be active by signing another old friend of Tom Brady. Sources say the former #giants Captain Logan Ryan agreed to terms with Tampa, giving them the lead in the minor. Ryan won two Super Bowls with Brady and #Patriots. pic.twitter.com/CQJYpX3BSo
