The Korean group Samsung, which has been based here for four years, is opening a new laboratory for wireless technology and robotics in Montreal.
“Demand for data from mobile device users has never been greater,” said Professor Gregory Dudek, vice president of research at Samsung Electronics, in a statement.
“By deciding to open this new lab in the Montreal region, Samsung confirms that our AI ecosystem is very attractive,” said Hubert Bolduc, President of Investissement Québec International.
Located in Montreal since 2018, the Samsung AI Center has just moved to a new facility twice the size on Sherbrooke Street West.
The team wants to double its size by fifteen researchers.
