The word game that spawned thousands of clones, Wordle is the original and the best daily brain teaser.
The concept is extremely simple and challenges players to find a five letter word in just six tries. To do this, you need to use the exclusion process to exclude different letters.
For example, if a letter tile turns gray after one of your guesses, you can conclude that that particular letter does not appear in today’s word.
If a tile turns yellow then the letter is in the word just not in the right place, while a green tile means the letter is in the word and in the right position.
The goal is to solve each puzzle in as few guesses as possible. You can then share your progress on social media and show friends, family and random followers exactly how smart you are.
If you can’t solve the puzzle, you’ll have to wait until the next day for a new wordle to be released. And since the Wordle site tracks your stats, a failure means you lose your hard-earned winning streak – something you’ll be reminded of every time you log on.

• Do not use the same letter twice in the opening guess.
• Try using a few vowels, especially “A” and “E” in your first guess.
• Avoid letters like “X”, “Z” and “Q” until you have a better idea of the answer later.
• “RAISE” is a good word to start with, while “TOUCH” is a decent second guess. I also like to use the word “CRANE” as an opening tip.
