The 31-year veteran was a key part of the team that lost to Laval Rocket in the North Division semifinals this year. In 75 games, the club captain recorded 30 goals and 32 assists for 62 points and led his team in total goals.
“His competitiveness and willingness to prioritize the team during practice and games are invaluable qualities, both in the dressing room and on the ice. As captain, he plays an important role in leading by example and raising our hopes of becoming professionals,” Crunch general manager Stacy Roest said in a statement.
Dumont, a former black for the Canadiens, has 385 points, including 167 goals, in 629 AHL career games.
