Linda Grey, the 80s TV icon from the hit drama Dallas, is moving out of her beloved Santa Clarita estate and has listed a mid-century modern home for just $3 million.
The 81-year-old star is even applying her talents to help sell a three-acre property that has luxury amenities like stables, a tennis court and a swimming pool, starring in a new commercial in which she marvels at the space.
In the video, Gray told a random story about how she and her late husband, Ed Thrasher, became owners of the house some 50 years ago.
Buyer’s dream! Linda Grey, the 80s TV icon from the hit drama Dallas, is moving out of her beloved Santa Clarita estate and has listed a mid-century modern home for just $3 million.
For sale: The 81-year-old star is even lending her talents to help sell a three-acre property that’s full of luxury amenities like stables, a tennis court and a swimming pool, starring in a new promotional video of her whipping through the space
“I’ve been here for 50, 5-0 years – and loved every moment,” Linda said at the start of the video, looking much younger than her 80+ years.
During the over four-minute commercial, she is seated by a large hearth with a roaring fire behind her, her brown hair in a shiny curl.
Linda explained that at the time she and Ed first saw the property, Santa Clarita’s Canyon Country was a very remote place, despite its proximity to Los Angeles. The house is only 35 minutes from Beverly Hills (except for crazy traffic in Los Angeles).
The couple joined friends who had come from Tennessee to inspect the “horse estates”. She recalled: “We came here, to an area that no one even knew about, had not heard of, whatever it was.”

“We were across the street and looking at their possible home and someone drove up and said, ‘Why don’t you look at [the other] property? It’s for sale, she said.
The other property turned out to be the Oak Tree Ranch, which she and Ed have upgraded over the years. Thrasher, a Hollywood art director best known for his work on album covers for chart-topping artists, died in 1983.
Linda has kept the 4,800-square-foot estate in pristine condition with modern appliances, new fixtures, and an inviting warm, neutral color palette.
The Zillow listing describes the sprawling 2.7-acre property as having “extraordinary parkland” dotted with huge trees that are hundreds of years old.

Incredible: Zillow’s listing describes the sprawling 2.7-acre property as having “extraordinary parkland” dotted with huge trees that are hundreds of years old.
It’s got it all: Oak Tree Ranch is designed for riding and has stables for four horses. There is also a storage room and shed.
As the Dallas star explained in the video, she and Ed stumbled upon the property while inquiring about a place to keep horses with friends. Similarly, the Oak Tree Ranch is “riding zoned” and has stables for four horses. There is also a storage room and shed.
From here, not only is it convenient to get to Los Angeles, but also close to the beaches of Montecito and Santa Barbara, the picturesque Ojai and the vineyards of Santa Ines.
The buildings on the site were designed by famed architect A. Quincy Jones (not a record producer), who Linda said was working in music studios in Burbank around the time she and Ed bought the site.

Heart of the house: The main house consists of three bedrooms and a chef’s kitchen designed by Josh Schweitzer, complete with a pizza oven.
Ed, who was the studio’s art director at the time, brought in a modernist to work at the Oak Tree Ranch.
The main house is three bedrooms with a chef’s kitchen designed by Josh Schweitzer and a pizza oven. There is also a two-story guest house with two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a living room.
While the house itself is stunning, the grounds are perhaps more impressive with a large pool and spa, lawn, gardens, chicken coop, and even a carp pond.
The property is listed by the Agency, which is owned by celebrity real estate broker Mauricio Umansky, husband of The Real Housewife Kyle Richards.
Relaxation: There is also a two-story guest house with two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and living room.
Facilities! Huge bathroom with large Jacuzzi tub and private fireplace.
Good! While the house itself is stunning, the grounds are arguably more impressive with a large pool and spa, lawn, gardens, chicken coop, and even a carp pond.
Now in California, Linda keeps a low profile. The veteran actress, director, and former model is best known for playing Sue Ellen Ewing, the wife of JR’s on-screen character Larry Hagman, on the classic series Dallas.
Linda played the role from 1978 to 1991, then starred in a number of successful films and reprized her role in a couple of Dallas reunions.
Also an accomplished stage actress, she played Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate in 2001. The brunette beauty also worked with Sylvester Stallone at the 1991 Oscars and Models Inc from 1994 to 1995.
She returned to Dallas in 1996 and 1998 for the spin-offs, and also appeared in the reboot from 2012 to 2014.
