The incredible confrontation in a Connecticut backyard ended when owner Rebecca Shaw was at her home.
The show told NBC Connecticut that she only checked the surveillance because her son and brother were screaming about a bear roaming outside the house, and that’s when she saw the incredible footage.
Shaw said she was scared but proud of her pigs, who she now knows can hold their own.
The pigs do not retreat as they look at the bear, and the clumsy seems to quickly realize that he is seriously outnumbered and rushes towards him, climbing out of the pen as quickly as he jumped in.
“I’m very proud of them because Hammy, especially the kid,” Shaw said. “He’s afraid of his own shadow, and the way he rushed away when he saw Mary fighting the bear was like, ‘Oh no, no way, get out.’
Owner Rebecca Shaw said she was scared but proud of her pigs, who she now knows can hold their own.
“I am very proud of them because Hammy, especially the little one,” Shaw said, “he is afraid of his own shadow and how he rushed away when he saw Mary wrestling with a bear. He’s like, “Oh no, no way, get out.”
Shaw says she usually has an alarm that goes off to alert her, but she didn’t hear it go off for some reason, but is going to take more action in the future and plans to invest in electric fencing.
According to Shaw, as a reward for their bravery, she took her “grandchildren” for a walk and treated them to a special dinner.
