BTS star Jin has been ‘discharged from hospital’ after successful surgery on injured finger… he will now ‘focus on rest and treatment’
BTS star Jin is resting comfortably after undergoing minor finger surgery, the group’s management company Big Hit Music said in a statement released on Saturday.
The 29-year-old singer, whose full name is Kim Seok Jin, underwent surgery after injuring his finger during “his daily activities,” the statement explained.
After being injured, the star went to the emergency room on Friday.

“He consulted doctors and was told that he needed surgery as the tendons in his finger were partially damaged,” the statement said. “He underwent surgery to repair the extensor of the index finger of his left hand on the afternoon of Friday, March 18th.
“The operation went well, according to the doctors. Gene was released from the hospital on the morning of Saturday, March 19, and he was resting. For now, he will wear a cast for stabilization and a speedy recovery.
“Jin will focus on rest and treatment in order to fully recover from his injury and resume his activities in good health. We will continue to support Jin’s speedy recovery by prioritizing the health and safety of our artists. Thanks.’

Thumbs up on surgery: Big Hit Music told fans that “the surgery went well according to the doctors” and their top priority is “the health and safety of our artists.”
As the boy band member’s injury is healing well, it is unlikely that he will miss any of the band’s upcoming performances.
The South Korean supergroup is planning four performances in mid-April at the newly built Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Jin’s operation is the latest medical issue he’s had to deal with in the past few months. The star, along with his bandmates Suga and RM, tested positive for COVID-19 at the end of December last year.

All seven members of the group were fully vaccinated when the trio tested positive for the virus, Big Hit Music said in a statement at the time.
According to Big Hit, Jin had previously taken two PCR tests and tested negative before the end of the quarantine period. Jin subsequently underwent another PCR test, in which he tested positive after developing flu-like symptoms.
About 10 days after being infected, Jin and Suga made a full recovery while RM never had any symptoms.
The group also consists of Jimin, who contracted COVID-19 at the end of January, V, who became infected in February, J-Hope, and Jungkook.
