Louanne de Lesseps apologized to the staff of the New York bar after what happened there on Thursday.
The 56-year-old “Real Housewives of New York” star shared a statement on Saturday after reports that she made a scene at the “New York Townhouse” where she sang into a microphone in the piano room for fellow regulars. She was not sober at the time.
“This week, after an unfortunate incident, I was confronted with the truth,” de Lesseps began her Instagram statement. “I want to apologize to the Townhouse staff and anyone I may have offended with my behavior.”

“Obviously my struggle with alcohol is real!” she continued. “Although I have made great strides over the years, there have been times when I have fallen. It’s day after day! I am recovering and taking steps to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
The Bravo star ended her message by saying, “I am grateful to my family and friends for their continued support.”
De Lesseps’ message was echoed by other stars in the Real Housewives franchise, including New Jersey star Margaret Josephs, who commented, “🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️👧🏼.”

Following the de Lesseps Piano Bar incident, a source told PEOPLE Friday magazine that “Luanne is working very hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle,” adding, “but she made a mistake and fell out of the loop.”

The insider shared that de Lesseps “uses this experience as a valuable lesson” in the future. “She will take steps to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” they added.
De Lesseps struggled with her sobriety for years. In 2017, she was arrested for battery, trespassing and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. She later volunteered for an alcoholism treatment center, telling PEOPLE at the time, “I’m determined to turn this accident into a life-changing event.”
She went into rehab again in 2018 and completed her probation in 2019. The following year, de Lesseps began drinking again, but quit during the COVID-19 pandemic. In November 2021, she launched her own non-alcoholic wine Fosé Rosé.
