Amber Heard Says She Still Loves Johnny Depp, Admits ‘I Know It Can Be Hard To Take’

Amber Heard admitted in an interview with the Today Show, hosted by NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, that she still loves Johnny Depp even after the defamation trial against her, which she emerged victorious from. The actress’ speech was broadcast this Wednesday (15).

“I love him. I loved him with all my heart. And I’ve tried my best to make a deeply broken relationship work. I couldn’t. No bad feelings or ill will toward him. I know it can be hard to understand “It can be, or it can be very easy to understand. If you’ve ever loved someone, it should be easy,” said the actress, who will be replaced in Aquaman 2.

During the conversation, Savannah questions Amber about the article she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018 in which she says she was a victim of domestic violence. Although Depp’s name was not mentioned, the publication played a key role in the defamation lawsuit filed by the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.

“The editorial wasn’t about my relationship with Johnny,” she said. “What the editorial was about, that I was lending my voice to a larger cultural conversation that we were having at the time.”

When asked if she expects to “cancel” Depp with the editorial, Heard said, “Of course not. It wasn’t about him.”

In the first part of the interview, Heard denied lying about the alleged abuse, which he detailed during his testimony. “I made a lot of mistakes, but always told the truth”

Verdict Amber Heard X Johnny Depp

The jury in the case ruled that both Heard and Depp were guilty of defamation against each other. However, the actress gained three points while winning only one.

The actress is set to pay her exhusband $13.5 million in damages. In return, the artist must pay Heard R$2 million, an amount that can be deducted from the payment she has made.
