Bam Margera was found by authorities at the hotel in Delray Beach, Fla. after walking out of rehab

Authorities located Bam Margera at a hotel in Delray Beach, Fla. on Wednesday after the Jackass graduate was reported missing at a nearby rehab facility where he was being held.

Sources told TMZ that police and a crisis intervention team brought the 42-year-old TV star, whose full name is Brandon Cole Margera, back to the rehab facility and that he did not fight back.

The rehab facility’s manager found that the Viva La Bam star’s stay at the facility was ordered by a court, leading to police searching for him.

Insiders told the outlet that the West Chester, Pennsylvania native probably didn’t relapse after completing a year in a drug and alcohol treatment program, but it wasn’t immediately clear since Margera hadn’t taken any medication since leaving.

Margera was upset that he wasn’t getting “special treatment” from the facility’s staff, prompting him to leave, outlet sources said.

The outlet previously reported that Margera wasn’t allowed to leave its newest facility without a permit, but made the impulsive decision to leave the sober Delray Beach residential facility after complaining about rehab restrictions.

Police records obtained by show Margera told the facility’s manager he was unhappy with the treatment he was receiving and would check himself into another rehab center in the area – apparently RECO Intensive.

The manager then told police he saw Margera driving away in a black Honda sedan around 8 p.m. Monday, and authorities have continued to search for him ever since.

Officials said Margera appeared to pose no danger to himself or others, and his friends and family were reportedly working hard to get him back into the facility, according to the New York Post.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Margera posted a photo to his Instagram of him getting in a fight with his “new Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor.”

“MMA fighter, chiropractor and sober for 10 years Dominick is my new AA sponsor #f-kYeah,” he captioned the post.

He also added a selfie to his Instagram Story showing him with his wife Nicole Boyd and rapper Machine Gun Kelly – who was performing in Florida on Tuesday night.

MailOnline has reached out to a spokesman for Bam Margera for comment.

Margera first entered the Delray Beach facility under a police escort in September after authorities were called about an “emotionally distressed person.”

He celebrated “a year of treatment” for drug and alcohol abuse last month and had said at the time he planned to start attending outpatient treatment courses over the next two months.

But Margera is reportedly having set-up issues.

After breaking his right wrist and dislocating his right elbow while skateboarding “for the tenth time” last month, the TV star refused painkillers due to his sobriety – but then accused rehab staff of not making an appointment for physical therapy.

The Pennsylvania-born star was attempting a trick he hadn’t tried in a year at a Florida skate park during a 30-minute break at a nearby AA meeting when his arm bent backwards, according to TMZ.

Margera has a long-standing substance abuse problem, having to be hospitalized in 2019 to treat edema apparently caused by excessive drinking.

More recently, Margera was kicked out of the latest Jackass project for failing to live up to the terms set by the producers regarding his addiction issues.

They were reportedly concerned about his addiction issues and erratic behavior – for which he recently revealed he has manic bipolar disorder – but wanted him to be part of the project.

In order to remain a part of Jackass Forever, sources said producers required Margera to sign a wellness agreement in which he agreed to continue taking his medication, blow regularly into a breathalyzer, stay sober, see a psychologist and undergo routine drug testing.

Margera currently shares an apartment with his second wife, Nicole Boyd, and their four-year-old son, Phoenix Wolf, but they plan to return to Southern California to buy a new home soon (pictured last month).

During an interview with TMZ in April 2021, he listed a number of medications that he was ordered to rehab for his release, including Zoloft, Lexapro, Wellbutrin and Klonopin.

“Doctors say I need this,” he said. “And then it led to suicidal thoughts on all 18 medications I was taking. I guess, well, what’s the point of a $5 million contract where I have to walk on eggshells and jump through your hoops, which is already impossible to obey when I’m dead?

When asked about the Jackass 4 producers’ demands, Bam remarked, “That was the definition of fucking torture,” he said. “They tortured me.”

He was then fired from the project after testing positive for Adderall, though he claimed in a wrongful termination lawsuit that producers knew it had taken him a decade to treat attention deficit disorder.

Margera alleged in a lawsuit against Johnny Knoxville, Paramount and others involved in the project that the wellness agreement he signed – allegedly without an attorney present – was unfair.

“Margera endured psychological torture in the form of a sham wellness agreement and was then ultimately terminated because of his protected class status due to his mental condition and complaints about the defendants’ discriminatory behavior toward him,” the lawsuit reads, according to the New York Post .

He finally settled the lawsuit last month.

Paramount+ is currently developing a reboot of the Jackass series, but it’s unclear if Margera will be involved after Jackass producer Jeff Tremaine was granted a restraining order against Margera last year – after he allegedly threatened Tremaine’s family.
