Star of the ‘Toy Story’ movies alongside Cowboy Woody, astronaut Buzz Lightyear is now getting his own movie. But the feature Disney/Pixar is celebrating in theaters this Thursday (16) doesn’t even take place in boy Andy’s toy universe. What is Lightyear about?
It all becomes clear from the film’s intro: What viewers will see on the cinema screen is the same film that would have made Andy fall in love with Buzz Lightyear, a space ranger. After seeing the story, the boy got a doll of the character.
In the video above, Ingresso.com journalist Renata Boldrini explains that the film shows the patrolman and his colleagues stranded on a distant planet after a space mission went wrong.
“It has more of an action movie feel to it without sacrificing the essence of Pixar,” he says. In her opinion, friendship, loyalty and overcoming are some of the themes surrounding the storyline of Lightyear.
Voice of the character is actually actor Chris Evans, Captain America from the Marvel movies. In Brazil, responsibility lay with Marcos Mion.
